Fashionable Warfare

Join several of the best 17th Century living history experts of the early colonial period in Virginia history as they explore the clothing, armor, and weaponry of soldiers of that period and the experiences they faced in combat either against their Spanish foes across the oceans or native Powhatan warriors in the New World.

These living history experts will be demonstrating their swords, firearms, pikes, and body armor as well as giving the public an understanding of how a person becomes interested in reenacting the past with the utmost care of accuracy in material culture.

They will ask and answer a fundamental question with an expert appearance of why details matter, how hand sewing is essential, and why period construction techniques and materials matter.
