Family Programs
Discovery Days are a two-hour family program designed for children ages 5-10 and their parents or guardians. Typically, this program is run twice a year by the Henricus Education team from 10 a.m. - noon. Included in the program are a story relevant to the theme, an interactive tour of the living history site, and a make-and-take craft! Themes for each day will be updated on the Henricus Calendar as they are developed.
Upcoming Discovery Days
It’s almost growing season at Henricus Historical Park! Join our family-friendly program to discover how the Powhatan Indians and English colonists relied on domesticated and wild plants to survive and flourish in Virginia. Activities include a make-and-take bean plant to grow, a plant-themed scavenger hunt, and hands-on planting and processing of historic period crops. This program occurs both indoors and outside in our recreated historic site. Please dress appropriately for the weather and for hands on activities.
All children must be accompanied by an adult!
