
Virginia Company Laundress, 1607-1624
This program will examine the role women played in taking care of the washing of various woolens, linens and sundry items of the colonists of Jamestown, Henrico, and tobacco plantations of early Virginia. The interpreter will demonstrate how clothing was cleaned, dried, and starched, and what these women’s live would have been like.
