Soldiers, Tradesmen, and Farmers: Skills of the English Colonists, 1611-1622 – CANCELLED

By 1616, Sir Thomas Dale had expanded a faltering colony and planted the seeds for the growth of a “new England.” The soldiers, tradesmen, and farmers of the early 17th century were the exact sort of people Sir Thomas Dale envisioned would establish Virginia. At this event, visitors will have a chance to see artillery and musket demonstrations, learn about the rise of the early tobacco crop, and observe the skills of tailors, armorers, and other tradesmen!
