Intro to Herbal Medicine
Learn about the ways medicinal herbs were used by the Powhatan Indians and the English Colonists 400 years ago in Virginia. Discover what plants and techniques were brought with the English from home, what was being practiced already by the Powhatans, and explore the myths and facts surrounding these herbal practices. Includes a hands-on, take-home activity as well as guided tour of Henricus focusing on the topic.
This program takes place in both our Powhatan Indian village and in our colonial fort. Adult groups, clubs, college classes and individuals welcome. The program is appropriate for ages 16 and older. Online registration required by May 6 by visiting our website.
