Discovery Days: Winter in the 17th Century

(Ages 3-10)

Brrr…it’s wintertime in Virginia! How did the English colonists and Powhatan Indians of 400 years ago stay warm? What activities did they do during the coldest, darkest months of the year? How were winter holiday traditions in the 17th century similar or different than our own? Beat the winter blues with a day of exploration and hands-on family fun at Henricus! Space is limited to allow for social distancing.

Program will include a story, interactive tour of our re-created 17th century site, and a make-and-take craft. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Time: 12-3pm

Cost:  $12/child, $8/accompanying adult; Henricus Members: $9/child with up to two accompanying adults free, $5/additional adult
