Experience a hands-on exploration of the tools and technologies of the 17th century Powhatan. This theme day will provide ongoing demos which will focus on traditional skills and technology during the late woodland and early colonial eras which allowed the indigenous Powhatan people to thrive. Compare the tools of the Powhatan with those of previous and later generations of Virginia Indians. Discover how European trade and materials influenced Virginia Indian technology and the impact native technology and materials had on colonial life.
