Discovery Days: Summertime in the 17th Century (Ages 3 – 12)

How did Powhatan and English families spend the long days of summer?  Join us as we tend the crops, play games, and celebrate the season with hands-on activities!  Program will include a story, interactive tour of our living history site, and a make-and-take craft. Cost:  $12/child,$8/adult; Henricus Patrons: $9/child with up to two free accompanying adults, $5/additional adult

Discovery Days: Water, Water Everywhere (Ages 3 – 12)

Water is essential for all living creatures, and it is in abundance at Henricus!  Learn how the people of the past relied on nearby water sources to survive and thrive while exploring the beauty of the Dutch Gap Conservation Area.  Program will include a story, interactive tour of our living history site, environmental activities, and a make-and-take craft. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

What kinds of plants did the Powhatans use or eat in the 17th century?  How did the English colonists raise farm animals in the New World?  Come see how both cultures depended on a wide variety of plants and animals in their daily lives.  Program will include a story, interactive tour of our living history site, and a make-and-take craft. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Come and learn what breakfast, lunch, and dinner might look like for a Powhatan or an English colonist in the 17th century!  Program will include a story, interactive tour of our re-created 17th century site, and a make-and-take craft. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Godspeed Days – School & Adult Group Tours of Henricus & Godspeed from Jamestown Settlement

Participate in specialized guided tours with many Powhatan and English living history Interpreters at the re-created Citie of Henricus and the Powhatan site of Arrohateck.  Board Jamestown Settlement’s Godspeed and see what life was like on the colonial-era sailing ship, Hands-on activities included.  This special opportunity is available only two days every other year!  Booking slots fill quickly.  All school (public, private, and home) and adult groups (adult groups are booked only in the afternoon) are welcome on these special days.  The tour lasts 2.5 hours and registration is REQUIRED by calling 804-318-8797.  No walk-in attendance allowed during the morning hours.  Individual walk-in attendance is welcome from 1 – 2 p.m.

School Group Cost:  $13/student, 1:10 teacher chaperones free.  $10/additional adults

Adult Group (or individuals) Cost:  $15 /adult
